Police in Neno District have arrested two men for allegedly being found in possession of copper wire suspected to have been stolen.
Spokesperson for Neno Police Rebecca Msoliza, has confirmed the arrest and identified the two as Lonjezo Magaleta aged 27, and Patrick Malikebu,46.
According to Msoliza, the two have been arrested at the Zalewa roadblock following a tip-off.
Msoliza said the suspects were traveling from Nkulumadzi in Mwanza to Blantyre with a laptop bag containing the stolen items.
“During a search at the roadblock, police found copper wire, a cutter, and a knife in the bag. The suspects confessed to having stolen the wire in Mwanza,” said Msoliza.
