Dr. Joyce Banda, the president of the People’s Party (PP), has officially announced her intention to seek re-election during the party’s upcoming convention later this year.
PP Spokesperson Ackson Kalaile confirmed the news, revealing that Banda has already collected her nomination papers for the position.
“The party will hold its elective convention in early September,” Kalaile said. “A lot of aspiring candidates have collected nomination papers, but Dr. Banda has confirmed her decision to run for another term as president.”
As the September convention approaches, the People’s Party will be buzzing with activity as various candidates prepare to present their bids for leadership. Dr. Banda’s re-election campaign will be a central focus of the party’s efforts in the coming months.
