Minister of Tourism Vera Kamtukule has said she will not resign from the Ministerial post despite her party pulling out of the Tonse Alliance.
United Transformation Movement (UTM) pulled out of the alliance with the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) on Friday last week.
“The reasons for which I accepted the appointment in the first place have not changed so I am not resigning,” Kamtukule was quoted as saying while refusing to disclose the reasons she accepted the appointment.
The pullout from Tonse Alliance by UTM has exposed divisions among party top officials as some are of the view that the alliance should continue.
UTM President Dr. Saulos Chilima and 8 others died in a place crash on June 10, 2024.
