Alhaj Abdulrazak Nkata, the United Democratic Front (UDF) governor for the Eastern Region, has resigned from both his position and the party. In an interview, Nkata revealed his decision was driven by concerns over the internal dynamics within the UDF.

Despite his efforts and display of dedication to the party, Nkata expressed frustration that some members viewed his contributions negatively. “Despite the display of affection and love for the party, some members think otherwise,” he said.

UDF spokesman Yusufu Mwawa and Secretary General Kandi Padambo declined to comment on Nkata’s resignation, citing a lack of official communication from him about the matter. This resignation comes in the wake of legal disputes between Nkata and the UDF that ended in a mutual agreement.

The departure of Alhaj Nkata raises questions about the future of UDF’s Eastern Region leadership and the internal challenges facing the party.
