United Transformation Movement (UTM) has extended the mourning period for late Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima to September next year.
UTM Director of youth Penjani Kalua announced this on Sunday during a candle light memorial at Zingwangwa for Chilima and 8 others who died in a plane crash on June 10, 2024.
“UTM will continue mourning Chilima up to next year September,” said Kalua while attracting ululations from party supporters.
He also said that UTM will conduct its own inquiry on Chilima’s death.
“You have heard that government is conducting its investigation on Chilima’s plane crash, ignore the outcome of the inquiry. UTM will conduct its own inquest after September next year awawa tikawachosa m’boma,” he said.
UTM pulled out of the Tonse Alliance last week.
