Mzuzu City Council seal 100 shops

Mzuzu City Council (MCC) has closed over 100 shops in Mzuzu city who are operating without council permits.
MCC spokesperson, MacDonald Gondwe says they are targeting property whose owners have not yet honored city rates.
“Our essence is not to punish our clients but rather promotion of responsible trading practices in Mzuzu City,” he says.
Shops owners are yet to comment on the matter.
