MEXICO – A bride received the shock of her life when she was arrested at her own wedding and sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Nancy Lizeth Rodriguez Guadarrama from Villa Guerrero, Mexico was detained by police as she arrived at the church for her wedding.
Dressed in her white wedding gown, Rodriguez was taken to the Public Prosecutor’s Office before she had the chance to cut her wedding cake.
Her fiancé, Clemente Mendiola Martinez, managed to flee the church but was later found dead in his car, with over 200 bullet casings at the scene.
Rodriguez was sentenced to 11 years and six months in prison for her role in a violent robbery committed in March 2022.
Prosecutors proved that Rodriguez was a member of the Familia Michoacana criminal organization and participated in the violent robbery.
Police reports revealed that Rodriguez and her accomplices stole money from a victim in Tenango del Valle, leading to her arrest on December 3, 2023.
Her deceased fiancé was identified as a hitman for a Familia Michoacana cell, and since 2021, authorities had been offering a reward for information leading to his capture.
