Musician Patrick Simakweli accused of having s3x with minor, granted bail

Blantyre Senior Magistrate Court has granted bail to veteran musician Patrick Simakweli who is accused of having sex with a minor.
The suspect is accused of committing the act on June 3, 2024 in Chilomoni Township in the commercial capital Blantyre.
Initially, Simakweli was denied bail but he had to re-apply after hiring the services of lawyer Jai Banda.
The case has since been adjourned to August 7, 2024 where the defense lawyer is scheduled to re-examine the victim and her mother.
