A touching display of generosity unfolded today as Malawians, led by Onjezani Kenani, donated K14.5 million to support legendary musician Sir Paul Banda with his kidney treatment.
The donation will help cover the costs of Banda’s twice-weekly hospital visits for his ongoing medical care.
Sir Paul Banda, visibly moved, thanked the Malawian public for their immense support and shared his hope of returning to the stage one day.
“We have died so many times; I think God is keeping me for a purpose. I miss the stage, and I hope to be back one day,” Banda said.
Amidst the outpouring of support, McWilliams Mhone encouraged Malawians to keep up their efforts for the music legend.
Additionally, Wycliffe Chimwendo from the Musician Association of Malawi (MAM) has called on the government to develop a sustainable plan to support Banda and other musicians in need.
