Police at Limbe in Blantyre have arrested a 34-year-old on suspicion of forcing her 16-year-old stepdaughter to have sex with another man and then receiving money from the man.
Limbe Police Spokesperson, Aubrey Singanyama has confirmed the arrest and identified suspect as Chrissy Ching’amba.
It is alleged that the woman was cashing in whenever the girl had sexual encounters with a man only identified as a Mr Mtira.
The man is said to be the woman’s customer at her restaurant in Limbe.
Limbe Police spokesperson, Aubrey Singanyama says the victim’s father reported the incident to police after discovering what was going on.
He adds medical examination at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital confirmed the man had sex with the minor.
Meanwhile, police have launched investigations to arrest Mr. Mtira, who is currently at large.
Singanyama says once caught, he will face the charge of having sexual singintercourse with a minor.
The arrested suspect, who hails from Kuzinda Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kadewere in Chiradzulu, will appear before court soon.
