Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is today celebrating his 84th birthday with a reflection on the numerous challenges facing Malawians.
Writing on his official facebook page Mutharika said despite all the challenges he remain fiercely optimistic.
“From the depths of my heart, this birthday has given me time to reflect. Malawi is enduring a trying period, and our people are facing tremendous challenges. Yet, despite these trials, I remain fiercely optimistic. I trust that God will grant us the strength to overcome and guide us through these difficult times as we unite to transform Malawi into a better nation. A better Malawi is coming in September 2025.
“Renewed in strength and filled with hope, I am confident that a brighter future for Malawi is on the horizon. Let us stand together, driven by faith and determination, to realize this vision,” said Mutharika.
Mutharika is scheduled to contest as President in the 2025 polls on DPP ticket.
