President Hakainde Hichilema has with immediate effect dissolved the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Board barely days after the resignation of ACC Director General.

This is in pursuant to article 270 of the constitution of the republic of Zambia and section 26 of the interpretation and general provisions act chapter 2 of the laws of Zambia.

In a statement issued to the media by state house chief communications specialist Clayson Hamasaka, the presidents decision is intended to renew the anti-corruption commission’s sacred mandate in spearheading the fight against corruption aimed at implementing necessary reforms to ensure the continued effective operations of the commission.

And the President has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the fight against corruption and maintaining a zero tolerance policy towards any corrupt practices.
