In Thyolo district, police have arrested three men suspected of stealing items such as two TVs and various household goods in Makwasa and raping their 16-year-old child.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Rabecca Kashoti said the arrested individuals are John Kanjanga, aged 32, Wyson Kambaleme, 49, and Manuel Kambalame, 31, from Mphuka village under Khwethemule jurisdiction.
Sergeant Kashoti explained that on July 7th this year, the three suspects, along with others who are still at large, broke into the victim’s house and stole items including two television sets and goods worth approximately K2.9 million.
She added that the police have apprehended three of the suspects and recovered some of the stolen items. Currently, the police are searching for other individuals believed to have been involved in the incident.
