The Lilongwe Principal Resident Magistrate court has today acquitted Norman Chisale, personal bodyguard to former president Peter Mutharika, who was answering six counts bordering on intimidation and use of insulting language.
Principal resident magistrate Roderick Michongwe among others said the state has failed to prove the case.
Chisale was among others accused of uttering insulting language on Minister of Justice Titus Mvalo and intimidating former Director of Public Prosecutions Dr Steven Kayuni and acting ACB Director General Hillary Chilomba.
Superintendent Ken Mhango, one of the state lawyers said they have taken note of the court’s decision on the matter.
Chisale was arrested early this year for crimes allegedly committed during an interview with Zodiak Television.
