Son to former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi, Francis Muluzi has said he will contest as member of Parliament in Chirimba-Magasa Constituency in the 2025 polls on an Independent ticket
Francis said this during the finals of MK1 million Alex Chimwala Primary Schools trophy played at Nkolokoti Primary School in Machinjiri on Friday last week.
In his speech, the young Muluzi said he is no longer in the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
“I resigned in MCP in 2020 and in 2025 i will contest as MP in Chirimba-Magasa constituency on an Independent ticket,” said Muluzi while not disclosing his reason for his resignation.
In 2019, Francis Muluzi represented MCP in Blantyre Kabula constituency and he lost the parliamentary polls.
