The horrific incident that took place in Acornhoek near The Village guest house along the R40 road on Sunday afternoon was captured on CCTV cameras.

The footage shows the events leading up to the tragedy, involving a White VW Golf 7, a Polo, and a tipper truck.

Reportedly, a car wash employee took a police Golf 7 vehicle which was there to be washed, without permission to buy equipment for the business. Following an apparent overtaking gone wrong, the Golf 7 collided with a Polo before losing control and crashing head-on into a tipper truck. The collision caused fatalities, with the Golf 7 driver and passenger losing their lives, and two others sustaining serious injuries.

This incident has reignited discussion about the practice of car owners leaving their vehicle keys with car wash employees and the potential risks associated with such actions.
