Minister of Tourism Vera Kamtukule has dumped the United Transformation Movement (UTM) and joined the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) ahead of the 2025 polls.
Kamtukule has been officially been welcomed into MCP ford by the party’s Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka at the party regional headquarters in Lilongwe.
Speaking after joining the party Kamtukule promised to work tirelessly in campaigning for President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera ahead of the 2025 polls.
Responding to some questions from journalists, the minister said she made her decision after moments of reflection and consultations.
On his part, Mkaka said Kumtukule’s move to join MCP is a big move.
