President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has for the first used a commercial flight to Blantyre since the passing of former Vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima.
Chakwera is in Blantyre to undertake various official engagements ahead of the party’s elective conference starting from Thursday in Lilongwe.
As opposed to his trip to Mzuzu where he traveled by road, Chakwera landed at Chileka International Airport through a commercial flight.
The President was received by Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu, government officials, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) officials and other members of the Tonse Alliance, traditional leaders, and other dignitaries.
Chakwera is expected to return to Lilongwe tomorrow..
