The Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) has quashed rumours hovering on the social media claiming that the central bank has once more devalued the kwacha by 25 percent.

In the past weekend, the social media was awash with reports that that RBM has devalued the kwacha again forcing some vendors to hike their products on the market.

The move also some motorist in the country hike minibus fairs.

But Speaking in an interview with the press, RBM spokesperson Dr. Mark Lungu said the reports are untrue.

Lungu then urged Malawians to be following reports released by Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).
