Information reaching this publication indicates that State Vice President Dr. Michael Usi who is also leader of the United Transformation Movement (UTM) has summoned for Central Executive Committee meeting of the party.
The meeting is slated for August 14, 2024 in the capital Lilongwe.
According to information at hand, Usi is not happy with the ongoing infighting in the party which has seen the emerging of two camps.
Usi wants the party to be one block ahead of the elective conference slated for October this year.
Michael Usi ascended to the post of Presidency following the death of the then President Dr, Saulos Chilima in a plane crash.
Chilima died in a plane crash together with 8 others on June 10, 2024.
