Sanderson Banda, a 25-year-old, has been arrested on Likoma Island for allegedly possessing Indian Hemp without a license.
The arrest occurred at Jalo market, where Banda was found with the prohibited substance.
Likoma Police Publicist Enala Kalua confirmed the arrest in a statement on Thursday. Kalua reported that the police have confiscated 500 grams of Indian Hemp from the suspect.
Banda admitted to purchasing the drug from Nkhatabay and selling it in Monkey Bay. He is expected to appear before court soon
The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to tackle illegal drug activities on the island.
