Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has accepted defeat in the ongoing Malawi Congress Party (MCP) elective conference at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the capital Lilongwe.

Ng’oma was contesting on the post of MCP’s first Vice President together with Speaker Catherine Gotani Hara, Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba and Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu.

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has declared Gotani Hara outshining Zikhale Ng’oma and others.

writing on his official facebook page after announcing the results Zikhale Ng’oma congratulated Hara for carrying the day.

“I have to thank all the MCP delegates who voted and supported me on the bold decision I took to contest on the position of the 1st Deputy President of the party on the ongoing national elective convention.

“As MCP family, let’s join hands to make our party stronger and help president Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera in moving the party forward,” wrote Zikhale Ng’oma.
