Political commentator Undule Mwakasungula has stated that it is difficult to predict if the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will form an alliance with other parties.
The Chairperson of the DPP’s organizing committee for the major conference, George Chaponda, announced today at a press briefing in Blantyre that the Allinace for Democracy (AFORD), United Transformation Movement (UTM), and United Democratic Front (UDF) have been invited to the conference.
The invitation allegedly aims to explore the possibility of forming a coalition to challenge the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in next year’s elections.
Currently, it is expected that 2,600 delegates from various regions will attend the party’s conference, which is scheduled to take place from the 17th to the 18th of this month at COMESA Hall in Blantyre.
