The Truck Drivers Association of Malawi has warned that it will go on strike as one way of forcing the department of immigration to start issuing passports to its members.
The association says the strike will also aim to force their employees to start using the approved government minimum wage.
According to the spokesperson of the association, Francis Munthali, the sit in will begin on Wednesday as one way of expressing their concerns, especially with the immigration department, which is failing to issue their passports.
Government spokesperson who is minister of information Moses Kumkuyu asked for more time before commenting on the matter.
