The Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) has urged Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda to negotiate with Techno-Brain Company for the restoration of the compromised passport system.

This recommendation follows a recent data breach that affected the system months ago.

In parallel, the government is in the process of procuring a new passport supplier, with an estimated cost of 69 billion kwacha.

CDEDI Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa has proposed that the government allocate 2.5 billion kwacha to Techno-Brain for repairing the existing system.
