The newly elected Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Publicity Secretary Jessie Kabwila on Monday afternoon met President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera at State House in Lilongwe.
Kabwila outclassed the then MCP Publicity Secretary Ezekiel Ching’oma with 850 votes at the convention.
Just after the elections, Kabwila apologized apologized to MCP supporters for dumping the party and joining the United Transformation Movement (UTM) party.
She dedicated her victory to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
Kabwila then promised to work tirelessly to ensure that the party remains in power after the forthcoming 2025 polls.
