Lilongwe Police have arrested a father and daughter who were found with assorted medical drugs which are allegedly expired.

Spokesperson for Lilongwe Police, Hastings Chigalu, said the suspects, Regina Stander, 31 and Hardson Malenga, 65, were caught at Mpanipani in Lilongwe Main Market after a tip-off that led to a special operation.

Chigalu said the drugs await assessment by the Pharmacy Medicines and Regulatory Authority (PMRA).

Stander and Malenga are expected to appear before court to answer charges of conducting pharmacy business on unlicenced premises and being found in possession and selling medical products without a license among others.

They all hail from Chilinde Village in the area Of Senior Chief Tsabango in Lilongwe.
