Information reaching our desk indicates that a man has been found dead in Dedza at a location known as Box 2, situated behind the Dedza main market where locally distilled beer (Kachasu) is sold.
The deceased has been identified by Dedza Police Station Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Beatrice Jefita, as Mofolo Kolosi, a 48-year-old from Blantyre.
According to Sergeant Jefita, it is suspected that Kolosi consumed strong alcoholic beverages on an empty stomach prior to his death.
His body is currently being held at Dedza District Hospital, awaiting a postmortem examination and further identification.
