Christopher William, a 30-year-old man, has been arrested by police in Mchinji on charges of trafficking three individuals to Zambia.
According to Mchinji police publicist Limbani Mpinganjira, William allegedly recruited the victims from Somokera village in the Traditional Authority Chadza area of Lilongwe, promising them employment on farms in Zambia.
The vehicle transporting the three victims—a man, a woman, and another man—was intercepted along the Mchinji-Lilongwe M12 road.
The victims are currently at Mchinji police station, and William is expected to face court proceedings soon.
