A father and his child have died after being attacked by another person believed to have had a brain disorder in Nkhata-Bay.
Nkhata-Bay Police Spokesperson Kondwani James reported that the incident occurred in Nkholozo village, where the deceased were Lawrence Mwale, aged 46, and his four-year-old child, Winton. James explained that the attack led to severe injuries when the two were struck on the head by a man named Isaac Manda. Both victims died while receiving medical treatment at Chintheche Hospital.
Relatives of the deceased, deeply affected by the deaths, tracked down Manda and assaulted him until he died.
Currently, James stated that the police are investigating the matter, and anyone who has taken the law into their own hands will be held accountable. The deceased Lawrence Mwale and his child were from Nkholozo village, under the chiefdom of Zilakoma in Nkhata-Bay.
