Today’s court session for the case involving two police officers accused of causing the amputation of a 13-year-old boy’s hands in Mulanje was postponed due to the sickness of a defense lawyer.
Senior Resident Magistrate Gloria Mwatiwamba stated that a substitute lawyer from the Legal Aid Bureau will replace the ill James Chiundira.
The case will be rescheduled to continue tomorrow, Tuesday, with the state set to proceed with its witness testimonies.
Director of Criminal Litigation Josephine Gwaza, leading the prosecution, confirmed that the state has eight witnesses lined up for the case.
