Police in Nsanje have arrested two men, Bisifala Laulosi 44 and Biton Mitambo 44, on suspicion that they stole 19 cattle in Mozambique
According to police spokesperson Agnes Zalakoma stated that the police intercepted a lorry used by the suspects to transport the stolen cattle on the Nyankotola Road at around 5 AM.
“When questioned, the suspects revealed that they had bought the cattle from Haji Kasekera, who is from Muyang’anira in the area of Chief Chimombo in Nsanje, but they have since fled,” said Zalakoma.
Currently, the police report that the owner of the cattle, Alumendo Dovu from Mutarara Province in Mozambique, has been identified and is being contacted.
Both suspects will appear before court soon.
Laulosi hails from Kalupya, T/A Masula, and Mitambo is from Mgona, under Chief Chiseka in Lilongwe District.
