An eight-year-old girl from Kkota-Kkota Ward in Chipepo chiefdom, Gwembe Zambia, was attacked and killed by a crocodile along the banks of Lake Kariba on Saturday.
Councilor for the Area Edward Gama, has confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Julie Kinda.
Gama explained that the girl met her fate while being bathed by her mother along the shores. The crocodile attacked the mother, snatching the child from her grip.
The remains of the girl were retrieved from the water around 18:00 hours on Sunday, with both legs and the right hand missing.
