The ex-Minneapolis police officer convicted in George Floyd’s death has been released from federal prison

The officer identified as Thomas Lane was found guilty in 2022 of violating George Floyd’s civil rights

He was sentenced to 2.5 years in federal prison

Earlier in 2022, Lane was also convicted of aiding and abetting manslaughter and sentenced to three years

Two of those years were served concurrently with his federal sentence, which ended on February 26 of this year
