Health experts have met in Lilongwe to establish preventive measures for Mpox following the announcement of two suspected cases by Health Minister Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda.

The cases involve a 31-year-old man isolated at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and a 17-year-old boy being managed at home, both in Blantyre and with no history of international travel.

Dr. Kelvin Mponda, Director at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, reported that results for the first patient are expected today.

Officials are urging Malawians to remain calm and adhere to health guidelines, including personal and public hygiene.
