Minister of Tourism Vera Kamtukule this morning cheered the only survivor of yesterday’s plane crash Charlotte Lemstra aged 22 at Nkhotakota District Hospital.

Nyasa Express aircraft with three passengers on board on Tuesday afternoon crashed into Lake Malawi, killing two people namely; Pilot, Fungay Jonathan aged 50 who is a Zimbabwean, Frisco Westheim aged 29 in the process.

Fishermen responded positively after the plane crash at Benga in Nkhotakota and rescued the woman and rushed her to Nkhotakota District Hospital where she is receiving treatment.

Speaking to the press after cheering Lemstra, Kamtukule expressed satisfaction with the treatment the survivor is receiving at the hospital.

She told the press that the survivor has narrated the whole ordeal and the information is not for public consumption.

Kamtukule has since said that government will soon institute the commission of the inquiry on the accident.

Reports indicate that the pilot, Jonathan lost consciousness minutes into the flight prompting Westheim to direct the aircraft to the lake for water landing.
