A fire has completely destroyed a wholesale shop in Luchenza Municipality, Thyolo, last night.
South East Police Region spokesperson Edward Kabango stated that the cause of the blaze is currently unknown.
The affected store, Themuke Trading Shop, is owned by Mr. Ndalama. The inferno resulted in the loss of grocery items worth millions of dollars.
Emergency services are still investigating the origin of the fire. The blaze reduced the shop’s inventory to ashes.
Authorities are working to determine the cause and assess the full extent of the damage.
