The senior official of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has urged people not to heed the statements made by opposition leader Peter Mutharika, who suggests that a return to power in the 2025 elections is possible.
Chimwendo Banda stated that the current government has addressed various issues that Malawians previously faced, such as shortages of vehicle fuel, sugar, and electricity blackouts.
He highlighted that Dr. Chakwera’s government has improved infrastructure, ensured timely payment for teachers, built police houses, and reinstated railway services in the country.
As a result, he is encouraging citizens to register to vote and support Dr. Lazarus Chakwera in the upcoming elections.
So far, two major political parties in Malawi, the MCP and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), have held national conferences to appoint new leaders as the 2025 general elections draw closer.
