The Kasungu District Commissioner has reported identifying 23 out of the 26 people who died in an accident involving a minibus that caught fire in Katondo village, near Santhe shops, in the district.

Kasungu District Commissioner James Kanyangalazi stated that the identification of the bodies was accomplished with the help of relatives.

He mentioned that the bodies have been sent to their respective districts, including Karonga, Rumphi, Machinga, and Chiradzulu.

Yesterday, the minibus, which was traveling from Jenda to Lilongwe, collided with a motorcycle rider and then crashed into a fuel tanker from Tanzania before catching fire, resulting in the deaths of all 25 people on board.
