United Democratic Front (UDF) will hold its elective convention from 2 to 3 October this year at COMESA Hall in Blantyre.
UDF Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Mwawa, has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
Mwawa said only its former president Atupele Muluzi has declared interest to stand for the presidency.
“The door is open and all positions are up for grabs. The closing date for the collection of nomination papers is 10 September 2024,” he said.
The party had initially planned to hold the convention on 3 August 2024 but it was rescheduled.
Malawi Congress Party and the Democratic Progressive Party already conducted their elective conventions and elected their torchbearers.
