United Transformation Movement (UTM) has postponed the much-anticipated memorial mega rally that was scheduled for this weekend at Masintha Ground in Lilongwe.

In a statement released today and signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Honorable Felix Njawala, the decision to shift the rally to a later date was made due to security concerns and in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer of Lilongwe City Council.

On the same day as the rally, President of Malawi Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is expected to attend the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Centenary Celebrations at Civo Stadium. For security reasons, UTM has decided to postpone the rally.

The rally has been rescheduled to 1st September 2024. The party has since apologized to all its supporters for any inconvenience caused.
