President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has appointed Attorney General (AG) Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda as a Senior Counsel with effect from August 23, 2024.
Solicitor General and Secretary for Justice Allison M’bang’ombe has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.
According to M’bang’ombe, the appointment was made on the recommendation of the Advisory Committee on the Appointment of Senior Counsel.
A formal ceremony will take place on August 26, 2024, at Kamuzu Palace, where Chakaka-Nyirenda will be granted letters of patent.
