In a harrowing incident that unfolded near Marula Platinum mine in Burgersfort, Limpopo in South African, a man made a desperate attempt on his life after enduring abuse from his wife.
Reports indicate he carried a container of fuel to a secluded area in the bushes.
Pouring the fuel on himself and drinking it, he then set himself on fire.
Feeling the pain, he rushed towards the Platinum mine, pleading for help.
The mine workers extinguished the flames and summoned the ambulance as the distressed man disclosed relationship troubles with his wife as the reason for his desperate act.
