Another fatal road accident has occurred in Kasungu and claimed lives of people (Number not yet known) injuring almost 6 people the car they were traveling in burst a tire at Thondolo on the Santhe-Mchinji M18 road.
One person has died at the scene while others are reported died on their way to District hospital where they were taken to receive urgent medical assistance.
According to an eyewitness, the accident happened after a rear tire of the vehicle, a Toyota Hiace minibus which was heading towards Kasungu from Lilongwe, burst and the driver failed to steer properly which caused the car to overturn.
While confirming the accident, Kasungu Police Public Relations Officer Joseph Kachikho said the police would provide more details later.
The spokesman for Kasungu police, Joseph Kachikho, has confirmed the accident but he has said that he does not have the exact number of dead and injured at the moment and he has since asked more time to give exact number.
This happens barely after five days, 26 people died in Kasungu after the minibus they were in hit fuel tanker and caught fire.
