Leader of opposition in Parliament George Chaponda has called on President Lazarus Chakwera to make public the report concerning the plane crash that claimed the lives of Saulos Chilima, who was vice-president of the country, and eight other people on June 10, 2024.

Chaponda made the statement in Parliament this morning, in reference to an interview in which a foreign journalist suggested that the German experts handed in their investigation report to the Malawi Government.

The interview has gone viral on social media.

Responding to Chaponda, First Deputy Speaker Madalitso Kazombo advised the Leader of Opposition to follow parliamentary procedures if he wishes to present the issue in the house.

Meanwhile, leader of government in Parliament Richard Chimwendo Banda said government is yet to receive the report.
