Woman Drowns in Dam Amidst Land Dispute in Phalombe

Phalombe police station spokesperson, Jimmy Kapanja, has confirmed that a 32-year-old woman drowned in a local dam last evening.
The woman, identified as Beatrice Tawakali from Nyezelera village under Traditional Authority (TA) Nyezelera, reportedly took her own life following a land dispute with her relatives.
Group Village Head Nyezelera has alleged that the disagreements over land for cultivation drove Tawakali to the dam.
Operations to retrieve the body of the woman are currently on the way.
