President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is next week scheduled t travel to China where he is expected to attend this year’s Summit on Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) slated for 4 to 6 September, 2024.
The trip comes barely days after the President return from Italy and Germany for official state visit.
The trip has been confirmed in a leaked communique by Malawi’s Ambassador to China addressed to all Malawians living in China.
The trip comes amid pressure from Malawians asking the President to release an inquiry report on the cause of the plane crash that claimed the lives of former Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima and 8 others on June 10, 2024.
Chakwera admitted of receiving the final report on the accident during interview with the Germany news outlet.
