Veteran politician Patricia Kaliati has expressed interest to contest as President of the United Transformation Movement (UTM) at the party’s elective conference set for November this year.
Kaliati is scheduled to face former Governor of the Reserve Bank Dalitso Kabambe who recently joined the party after dumping the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Apart from that, Kaliati will also face engineer Dr. Mathews Mtumbuka, a friend to late Dr. Saulos Chilima and the curent UTM leader Dr. Michael Usi.
Kaliati is currently serving as UTM Secretary General.
UTM will hold its elective conference on November 17, 2024, the party’s publicity Secretary Felix Njawala announced this yesterday during a media briefing.
