The catholic dioceses of Karonga and Mzuzu have jointly organized a memorial mass in honor of former Vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima and 8 others at St Peters Cathedral in the city.
The memorial mass will be held this coming Saturday, August 31, 2024 and will be graced by Bishop Dr. Mathews Mtumbuka of Karonga Dioceses and Bishop John Ryan of Mzuzu.
This has been confirmed in a statement made available to this publication.
Mary Chilima, widow to late former Vice President is scheduled to attend the memorial mass which will be held a day before a memorial mega rally slated to take place at Masintha Ground in the capital Lilongwe.
The memorial mass is scheduled to start at 9am.
Chilima and 8 others died in a plane crash on June 10, 2024 in Chikangawa Forest and Malawians are eagerly waiting for the inquiry report on the cause of the plane crash.
