NICO Life Insurance Company Limited has pumped in money amounting to MK5 million into this year’s Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) Lake Conference which is scheduled to commence this coming Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi.

The conference which will run for three days will be held under the theme: “Transforming Malawi Through Insurance Innovation, Inclusion, and Growth: Towards Malawi 2063″.

Speaking after handing over the Cheque the Company’s Chief Financial Officer Victoria Zigowa said the company recognizes the big role IIM is playing hence the sponsorship.

Zigowa went further to say that the company believes that the platform will provided solutions on how Insurance companies can innovate to improve its penetration on the market.

“We believe this is a platform where issues concerning our industry are discussed and we need all players in the market to be innovative and inclusive to be able to register tangible growth and eventually increase insurance penetration levels as we chase the agenda 2063 goals.

“This sponsorship is more than just a financial support; it is an investment in the future of our nation and in the potential of every Malawian,” said Zigowa.

She added: “Apart from this support, we are further sending about 30 participants across the group as we are a learning organization and believe in continuous improvement.

“This is how we value this conference, and I am confident that the discussions, insights, and collaborations that will emerge from there will drive what’s needed and extend the reach of insurance to all corners of our society.”

On his part IIM President Reuben Kamanga Kawelele hailed NICO Life for the timely support and promised the company that the money will be used for the intended purpose.

Deputy Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr. Janet Banda SC is scheduled to be the guest of honor at the Lake Conference.
